Meet the counsellors

Lauren
Hi, I'm Lauren, a Student Counsellor within the Affordable Counselling Team at Ripples Wellbeing.

I am a trainee Integrative Counsellor, currently working towards Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My life journey has led me to
counselling through my experience working within the mental health sector, where I have seen first-hand the importance of feeling heard, understood, and supported. Those experiences inspired me to develop the skills to help others navigate life's challenges in a safe and compassionate therapeutic space.

As an integrative counsellor, I recognise that every person is unique, so I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. I aim to provide a warm, non-judgemental, and collaborative space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to support you, helping you gain greater self-awareness, build resilience, and work towards meaningful change. I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of counselling and strive to create an environment where you feel safe, valued, and empowered. Where appropriate, I can also incorporate creative approaches, mindfulness, or walk-and-talk sessions to support your wellbeing.

Outside of counselling, I am a proud mum of two who loves making the most of life. You'll often find me out on my paddleboard, enjoying time on the water, or making memories with family and friends. I'm passionate about micro learning and believe that small, consistent steps can lead to meaningful personal growth.

Monday daytime Face to Face in Ham Green House or Online.
Friday daytime and evening Online only.

Charli
Hi, I’m Charli, a trainee counsellor with Ripples Wellbeing.

I’m passionate about offering people a warm, welcoming space where they can explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours without judgement. Even when we have supportive friends or family, finding the time to truly listen, empathise and resist the urge to ‘fix’ can be difficult. Counselling provides something different — a safe, calm environment with no demands or competing pressures, just dedicated time to focus on you.

I work in an integrative way, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to find what best suits each individual. My own life experience, ongoing training, professional development and personal therapy all shape my practice, helping me continually grow so I can offer the best possible support to my clients.

I am a student member of the NCPS, and my work is supported by regular supervision.

Outside of my counselling work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new places and settling into a cosy coffee shop with a good book.

Tuesday Face to Face in Lockleaze or Online.
Monday evening and Friday afternoon Online only.

Kate
Hi- I am Kate, a student Counsellor with Ripples Wellbeing.

I understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming - whether through loss, major life changes, financial stress, or simply entering a new chapter. During these times, having a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to talk can make a real difference.

I am currently completing my Level 5 qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I work from a pluralistic approach, tailoring sessions to each individual. I draw on cognitive-behavioural (CBT), psychodynamic, and person-centred therapy to help clients understand themselves, explore past experiences, and develop healthier ways of coping.
I have more than 12 years’ experience in education, including mentoring teenagers and university students with neurodiversity and mental health challenges. I am also a qualified hypnotherapist, a member of the NCPS, and hold professional indemnity insurance.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends, live music, theatre, swimming, and being in nature.

Wednesday, starting 5pm-9pm throughout July and August. Extending to 3pm-9pm from 1st September

Matt
Hi I'm Matt, a trainee counsellor with Ripples Wellbeing.
Within sessions I offer a diverse space from a range of approaches in order to create a safe and tailored environment to support life's complexities. My aim is that together we will explore and connect with emotions through compassion and curiosity to foster confidence and understanding.
Drawing on my experience working within mental health services, I value the relational space that counselling gives and understand the importance of pacing, safety, and working together as we unravel whatever you bring into our time together.
Both away and within the therapeutic setting I have a passion for all things nature and the outdoors; loving the sense of connection, grounding and perspective that this can bring.

Along with this passion, I am happy to offer outdoor Walk & Talk sessions based in Lockleaze, providing a natural environment for our collaborative work.
Fridays Face to Face, Online or Walk & Talk in Lockleaze.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening appointments Online only.
