Meet Sarah.

Hello and welcome to this space. Choosing to come to counselling can feel like a big step. I’d like you to feel comfortable so you can relax and be yourself when we work together.

I am an integrative counsellor with a person-centred foundation. This means I believe you are the expert of your own life. My role is to work alongside you, offering a supportive therapeutic relationship where we will explore whatever feels pressing or important for you.

Rather than using a one-method-fits-all approach, I draw on different psychotherapeutic methods to meet your individual needs. So, together we’ll find approaches that feel right for you. As we work together, we may look at what’s affecting you now as well as experiences from the past that continue to influence your thoughts, feelings and relationships.

I will not tell you what to do or make decisions for you, I will offer empathy, honesty and support whilst helping you to grow your self-awareness. Greater self-awareness will empower you to make sustainable change that come from a deeper understanding of your ‘self’.

Our sessions are a space where you can talk openly, without fear of judgment. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, at a loss, struggling in relationships, or simply trying to understand yourself better, we’ll take time to explore what’s happening for you. We will work at a pace that feels safe and comfortable.

Informal chat

If you’d like to work with me, send an email with the subject header: Informal Chat.

Give your first name, and how you’d like to chat, by telephone or online.

It is not a therapy session, but we’ll have 20 minutes for an overview of what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping to change, and any other questions you have about counselling therapy.

This will also help you to decide if I am the right therapist for you, and for me to know if I can support you.

I work Wednesdays and Thursdays with some evening availability.
Sessions are £50 for 50 minutes.

What does therapy look like?

Every therapy journey is different. We’ll work together at a pace that feels safe for you, focusing on what matters most.

As therapy progresses, you may begin to recognise patterns in your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, helping you better understand yourself and make meaningful changes. I may also invite you to explore creative or reflective approaches, such as writing, drawing or breathwork, if they feel helpful, but there is never any pressure.

Therapy is collaborative, and your feedback helps us shape the process around your needs and goals.

How long will we work together?

You are free to end therapy at any time.

The time required is often dependent on the depth of what you are bringing to therapy, where you are starting, your resources and support networks, and finding the right pace for you to do the work whilst being able to process your experiences.

We will have regular reviews to consider where we are in your process. Please do not worry about giving notice to end therapy but do try to give at least 2-weeks’ notice. This means we can plan what our ending will look like because the end of your therapy is as important as the start.

Session Duration and Cost

Therapy works best with consistency, so we will usually plan to meet each other every week at the same time (unless agreed otherwise).

Sessions last 50 minutes. £50 per session. Payment via YouCanBookMe online system.
