Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that works with the body’s natural energy. It aims to clear energy blocks and promote balance, relaxation, and well-being.

Developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in 1922, Reiki is a gentle, hands-on or hands-above treatment used worldwide today.

Reiki services

Heidi holds her Reiki qualifications alongside full indemnity insurance for both 1-2-1 reiki sessions and day clinics for workplaces, festivals or retreats.

Heidi practices from her treatment room in Portishead in addition to offering sessions in your home, workplace, festival or retreat settings.

What happens during a Reiki session?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive treatment.
In a standard treatment, Reiki energy flows from the practitioner’s hands into the client. The client remains fully clothed and usually lays on a massage table, but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or even standing. The practitioner places their hands on or near the client’s body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the client’s needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position. The whole treatment usually lasts between 45 and 60 minutes.

What does a Reiki treatment feel like?

What a client experiences during a Reiki treatment varies somewhat from person to person. However, feelings of deep relaxation are usually felt by all. In addition, many feel a wonderful glowing, warm radiance that flows through and surrounds them. As the Reiki energy encourages the ‘letting go’ of tension, anxiety, fear or other negative feelings a state of peace and well-being is experienced. Some drift off to sleep or report floating outside their bodies whilst others may have visions or other spiritual experiences. At the end of the treatment, clients feel refreshed with a more positive, balanced outlook.

Heidi has a magic gift for healing energy; I feel more centred and at ease than I have done in years

Emma – Bristol

I was feeling rundown, overwhelmed and stressed juggling all that life throws at you. I had tried a number of wellbeing treatments and a friend had received a reiki treatment from Heidi and told me that I had to try it - I never looked back! Heidi made me feel at ease from the get go and following treatments I slept like a baby and felt my stress melt away across the months I had sessions. I was unsure at first but I would tell anyone to try Reiki – it really is amazing (or maybe it’s just Heidi

Helen – North Somerset

Reiki isn’t for everyone but even I (the most sceptical person!) think it is AMAZING! Heidi is simply incredible. Thank you.

Jamie – Bristol.
